We are pleased to invite you to a dance seminar of mixed ability and open level of dance experience with Vitoria Kotsalou and Aris Papadopoulos.

In the workshop we will share the practices as well as the score of the dance work SOLAR created by the group EnDυνάμει and Vitoria Kotsalou and presented in the context of the M-power festival at the Onassis Cultural Centre. Our aim is to invite the participants of the seminar to learn and eventually dance SOLAR together with the members of the En Dynami group who will participate in the seminar.

For the shaping of the work we drew material from the 30 members of the "En Dynami" group, and based on the idea of the celebration, we created a movement score. Through the specificity of each participant and their diverse perception, we composed a work dedicated to existence, an awakening of the deepest intuition for life, based on the question What is it that allows us to seek, to claim, to offer to life?

The score of SOLAR is danced on the original rave music composition by Anargyros Deniozos and is based on the evolution of a state of transcendence. Each body stimulates and expresses its unique movement as the group simultaneously goes through a process of unification.

In the workshop we will explore the practices that make up solar work to expand the body and focus on how through dance deeper sensations, memories and our needs come to the surface, which we need to feed a more expanded present.

"Solar" constitutes a place of collective and personal search for a common ground of coexistence and acceptance of the other, the different, the unlikely, the incomprehensible.
A collective practical "study" of how acceptance affects our lives, relationships, happiness - and vice versa.

The seminar is free of charge, with a limited number of participants.

BITORIA COTCAL

Vitoria Kotsalou has studied psychology, and is a self-taught dancer and choreographer. Her eclectic training, unbound by one tradition, and ongoing research from many different areas of dance practice and philosophy, shape a different perception and application of dance. As a choreographer and artist, she operates dance as a way of being, a means of thinking and assimilating the world, and as a field of connection to the intelligence that governs the nature of things.

He is one of the founding members of the non-profit organization R.I.C.E. and the RSOD Dance School on the island of Hydra. She is a close collaborator of choreographer Michael Klien and an active member of the group En Dynami since 2014. As a choreographer she has composed the works Day out of Time (2017), Mount (2019),  Rite of Spring - A Map (2021), Solar (2023), Bare (2023). As a dancer she has made important collaborations with Androniki Marathaki, Mariella Nestora and Agni Papadeli Rossetou. She teaches dance to children, adults and mixed ability groups, and also choreographs theatrical performances.

Drawing inspiration from the study of different artistic practices, philosophical approaches and collaborations, her thinking extends to social choreography through which she simultaneously observes the world and designs works that convey the possibility of changing or expanding the way it is perceived and functions.
