Creating accessible music and performing arts performances for people with sensory and cognitive disabilities

PASS attempts to address the problem of lack of participation and visibility for artists and audiences with cognitive and sensory disabilities in live performing arts performances. The coordinating organisation is Fondazione Arturo Toscanini (Italy) and the project partners are ACCAC (Finland), En Dynami (Greece) and Studio Citadela (Czech Republic).

Dance CV - Veronica Sgardeli
I have a congenital motor disability. From a young age I was involved in sports. In 2015 I started doing wheelchair modern dance and since 2019 I have been involved in acrobatic wheelchair modern dance. My choreographer and I use our bodies and my wheelchair as a body tool, and with it I push my dancing and acrobatic potential to the maximum I can reach. I have many professional dance performances in theatres to my credit, as well as TV and radio interviews promoting wheelchair dance. I have collaborated with political figures in social events concerning civil rights and accessibility for my fellow citizens with disabilities. I participated in various charity events in different parts of Greece.
I cooperate with the Federation of Greek Basketball Clubs with Wheelchair (OSEKA) by participating in events and activities. In 2023 I became a member of the "Hippocampos Association for People with Disabilities" as a dance athlete, wanting to get involved in wheelchair racing - ParaDance Sport, dancing Latin under the supervision of my coach. My latest success was winning the gold medal at the 15th Mediterranean Open Dance Cup in December 2023 under the auspices of I.D.O. Hellas (International Dance Organization).
In 2024 I participated in a musical and dance performance with dancers, artists and athletes with or without disabilities, together with Nikos Galis and Dimitris Diamantidis, at the games of the National Team in the 2024 Basketball Pre-Olympic Tournament entitled "Inclusive Dance Experience".
This year, I will represent Greece in international wheelchair dance competitions - ParaDance Sport, starting from the World Para Dance Sport Games to be held in Kozice, Slovakia in September 2024.
