ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON ANCIENT DRAMA

Workshop on Ancient Drama and the "Antigone" by Sophocles, with the director Sophia Antoniou and the musician Antonis Hatziantonis!
"O angelic light! There you are, in Thebes!"

The EN DYNAMEI group exercises on the concept of the chorus, rhythm and soundscapes, the
acting approach to ancient drama based on the text of "Antigone".
A group of young people tell the story of Antigone a group of young people with and without disabilities wonder if they live in a fair world wonder if laws are created to protect people or vice versa wonder how far they would go to protect the
I believe she wonders without having answers.

From October 2022, the En Dynami group organised an annual workshop on ancient drama. Sophocles' "Antigone" was chosen. The group's struggle for inclusion and integration through artistic creation and many other activities is evident and ongoing. It is a challenge for the En Dynamism group to come into contact with a different dramaturgy, that of ancient drama, a poetic text, a text that has its own rules, its own rhythm and its own world. The group intends to present at the end of the annual workshop in December 2023.

Sophia Antoniou and En δυνάμει

My first contact with the En Dynami team happened from the viewer's side with the
performance "The Fan Man" directed by Eleni Efthymiou. A theatrical
experience which, apart from the multitude of emotions it made me feel, made me
opened up the perspective I had until then on people with disabilities. She was a child herself
of a disabled parent and with my experience of studying in the Psychology Department
the contact with the team and with the possibility that I saw in front of me, I
the awareness of all the prejudices and stereotypes that I myself
I was observing in myself could be nothing more than an experience
revealing, difficult, moving but also full of light.
The next step was to work with the team through the position of assistant
director in the performance "The Other House" directed by Eleni Efthymiou. The relationship
with the team became personal, through a professional relationship which
constantly expanded the personal boundaries of each person with love and respect.
Since then, in collaboration with Maria Koltsida, PhD student of the Pedagogical Department
of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on Theatre Pedagogy and Disability Studies,
we organized and performed theatrical workshops with the group, under the
under the guidance of the artistic director Eleni Demopoulou.
In December 2021 I graduated from the National Theatre School, in the department of
Directing with my thesis on Sophocles' Antigone.
There was born the idea of Eleni Demopoulou and the En Dynami group to deal with
the ancient drama.
