The project 1000 FACES - 1000 FACES was born out of the project of Loxandra Lucas, an artist with Down syndrome and member of the En Dynami group, and the method she created and adapted to her capabilities with Eleni Demopoulou, at the beginning of May 2020.With the support of the En Dynami group, we are trying to create 1000 faces with the method of Loxandra Lucas to create portraits, in order to create a huge society with different people.
"We are all made of the same material, but we are all so unique. So is this method. It starts with two circles, one small and one large. No two faces are the same."
Each person has their own personal story, their own unique name, age, family, friends, hobbies and interests! Each person could be a person known, familiar or unknown, imaginary, passing by.
Every story hides secrets, truths, dreams and realities. So far there have been several workshops for learning the method (indicatively.)
The workshops consist of two stages, the first of which focuses on learning the visual method of creating portraits and the second is a creative writing process to create the stories of the characters. Our goal is for these thousands of faces to create a huge exhibition of portraits, a new huge unique society.
